The Lake Hume Cycle Challenge is a volunteer-run community cycling event, organised by a joint committee of the Rotary Clubs of Bellbridge Lake Hume and Albury North. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it and how we look after it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Children
Riders under 18 should be registered by a parent or guardian, who provides the child’s details on their behalf.
Why we collect it
We use your information to:
– process your registration and send your ticket and confirmation
– run the event safely, including contacting your emergency contact if needed on the day
– confirm eligibility for entry types, such as free entry for children under 12
– send you event information, such as bib collection details, start times and any weather or course changes
– let you know about future Lake Hume Cycle Challenge events
– coordinate volunteers
– report overall participation numbers to our committee, sponsors and beneficiary. These reports do not identify you.

Emails from us
If you register, you will receive emails about your entry and the event. We may also email past riders and supporters about upcoming events. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using that link or by emailing us.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
– service providers who help us run the event and this website, including our ticketing, payment (Stripe) and email (Mailchimp) providers and our website host. Some of these providers store data outside Australia.
– event officials, volunteers and emergency services, where needed for your safety on the day
– authorities, where we are required to by law.
Donations are made directly to the Sunshine Trust through its own website and are covered by the Sunshine Trust privacy policy at www.sunshinetrust.org.au.
Photos and video
Photos and video are taken at the event and may be used to promote the Lake Hume Cycle Challenge, as set out in our Terms and Conditions. If you would like a photo of you removed from our website or social media, please contact us.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Access is limited to committee members, volunteers and service providers who need it to run the event. We keep registration records so we can run future events and remove information when it is no longer needed.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us at the address below.

If you have a question or concern about your privacy, please contact us first and we will respond as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
